Can you say "Hall of Fame"? 29 year old Arias is well on his way. After 5 years in the bigs, Arias has put up some lofty numbers and shows no signs of slowing down. The numbers speak for themselves, .212 career OVA, 1.04 career WHIP, 2.46 career ERA, and an amazing 93-30 major league win-loss record.
Arias burst on the scene his rookie season (season 5) and ended with 17-7 record. No sophomore slump for Arias...his second season he took home the Cy Young award. Another Cy Young followed last season, as Arias lead the Cannons to their second World Series victory.
Nicknamed "Iron Man" by his teammates, Arias has never missed a start. Manager Brace Lankford marveled, "I've never seen anyone like this kid. I don't know if its good genes, healthy diet, or his tremendous off season work out regimen, but this kid is a specimen."
The Cannons smartly locked Arias into a long term deal two seasons ago, signing him through season 11. Should Arias opt for free agency once his contract is up, you can expect he will demand top dollar, and every owner in the league will be watching closely. Asked about his intentions, Arias was diplomatic. "Benny like baseball. Benny like pitching. Benny like winning. Cannons very good to Benny, but Benny gotta eat, man."
